Marty passed away, surrounded by family on May 6, 2025 after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. The photo was taken with his lifelong friend, Tim Warren, three days prior to his death.
Marty was my best buddy in high school. We shared loads of memories throughout the years. With his childlike curiosity about almost everything he did, he lived life to its absolute fullest each and every day till his last. Marty will be sorely missed and never forgotten. May you R. I. P. buddy.....your friend Chris 🙏🏻❤️
I really didn't become friends with Marty until after our 30 year reunion. Marty and I went to the same grade school so we knew each other but never hung out together. Marty liked to try to call in bull elk during the rut ( breeding time) and I like to hunt elk. I think Marty liked going with me because I can sound like a girl elk while he took pictures. We didn't call in bulls every time we went but always heard lots of bugling which was OK with me. After we made our attempts to call in a big bull we would stop for lunch in Payson. I'm going to continue going up to Marty's area with a couple guys from our class in honor of Marty and in his memory.
